07/30/2008 - Joseph Pete Jancik
Funeral Services for Pete Jancik, age 71, of Hay Springs will be Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Hay Springs with Pastor Don Ludwig officiating. Burial will be at the Hay Springs Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Hay Springs Fire Department and the Hay Springs Ambulance Fund. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, P.O. Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
Pete held many jobs through his life; Strotheide and Lewins, logging and later at the grain elevator. Pete and Sharon were married in 1957. He was very talented and could do anything that needed to be done. Pete loved his children and grandchildren very much. He always enjoyed having them around and visiting them. His greatest pleasure was taking his children and grandchildren fishing with him. Pete had many different talents from an Alaskan cruise in May which was a great highlight. Pete was a kind and caring man and will be greatly missed by his family. Immediate Survivors:
Wife- Sharon Jancik of Hay Springs, NE.
Sons- Mike Jancik and wife Tricia of Hay Springs, NE; Clay Jancik and wife Kimberly of Colorado Springs, CO.
Daughters- Traci Bates and husband Bart Spracklen of Sutherland, NE; Brandi and Brock Musgrave and husband Brock of Westminster, CO.
Sister- Laura Scherbarth of Hay Springs, NE.
Grandchildren- Nathan Bates, Megan Gilmore, Brandon Jancik, Boone Jancik, Cydney Jancik, Wesley Jancik, Tim Jancik, Andy Jancik.
Step-Grandchildren- James Taylor, Amanda Spracklen, Andrea Spracklen. Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements.
