Graveside Services for William M. “Bill” Dierksen, age 81, of Chadron will be Friday, August 29, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Greenwood Cemetery with Father Todd Sermon officiating. A memorial has been established for the Chadron Youth Baseball League. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, P.O. Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
William Marvin “Bill” Dierksen, life long resident of Chadron, Nebraska, passed away Monday August 24, 2008 at the Ponderosa Villa in Crawford, Nebraska after a brief illness.
He was born October 3, 1926, in Chadron to Mina and Louie Dierkson. Bill attended Chadron High School and played football, basketball, and track. He enlisted in the Navy in 1945 as a corpsman. He served in China and played football for the Marines. He was discharged in 1949 and went to work for the C&NW railroad as a brakesman and later a conductor for 42 years.
Bill loved to hunt and fish. He was active in the Elks, V.F.W, and the American Legion. In his later years he enjoyed his place at Angustora Reservoir, woodworking, gardening and his grandchildren.

Sons- Bill Dierksen of Chadron, NE; Brent and wife Kandy Dierksen of Chadron, NE.
Brother- Deek Dierksen of Chadron, NE.
Grandchildren- 4
Chamberlain Chapel of Crawford is in charge of arrangements.
