09/20/2008 - Ronald Hallsted
Funeral Services for Ronald Hallsted, age 59, of Chadron will be Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron with Father Tim Stoner officiating. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Chadron. A memorial has been established for the Chadron Volunteer Fire Department or the American Cancer Society. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, P.O. Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
Ron Hallsted was born on November 18th, 1948 in Rome, Georgia, to Leonard & Eloise Hallsted. The Hallsted’s family moved to Chadron Nebraska, July 1959. Ron attended Chadron Public Schools and Chadron State College.
He enlisted into the United States Navy August 19th, 1968 and received an Honorable discharge August 18th, 1972. Ronald Hallsted married Sue Simcho of Omaha in October 1975. Ron was employed with Ozark Airlines and TWA Airlines for many years before moving to Chadron Nebraska in 1990. Most recently he was owner operator of Hap’s Lock @ Key in Chadron.
Immediate Survivors:
Daughters- Angie and husband Carlos Cruzhurtado and mohter Sue Simcho of Omaha, NE; Nicole and husband Andy Preuss of Olympia, WA; Shelly and husband Dan Giliberto of Everett, WA.
Brother- Hap Jr. Hallstead and wife Martha and two children of Ryan and Kate of Columbia, MO.
Aunt- Joy Phillips of Lebanon, TN. Uncle- Don and wife Myrna Hallsted of Lewellen, NE. Grandchildren- 11
Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements.
