Graveside Services for Harley R. Perkins, age 92, of Omaha, NE will be Friday, September 26, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Hay Springs Cemetery in Hay Springs, NE. Military honors by Hay Springs American Legion #239. A memorial has been established Hay Springs Amer. Legion, Nebraska Humane Society or Schriners Childrens Burn Center.
Harley Retired Switchman for Union Pacific Railroad. Harley served in WWII with the 9th Armored Division, 73rd Armorned Field Artillery Battalion. His unit saw action in the Battle of the Bulge, Dec. 1944 and the capturing of the Ludendorff Bridge at Ramagen in Feb. 1945.
Immediate Survivors:
Wife- Laurel E. Perkins.
Daughter- Carolyn and husband K. Bruce Riddel of Tekamah, NE. Grandson- Steven and wife Jennifer Riddel of Elkhorn, NE. Granddaughter- Lesley Riddel-Koch and husband Jeffry Koch. Great granddaughters- Katelyn Elizabeth Koch, Anna Marie Koch both of Rose Hill, KS. Great granddaughter- Sarah Elizabeth Riddell of Elkhorn. Great grandson- Scott Matthew Riddell of Elkhorn. Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements.
