Memorial Services for Dorothy Hankins, age 55, of Hay Springs will be Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Hay Springs St. Columbkille Catholic Church with Father James officiating. Burial will be at the Hay Springs Cemetery. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain-Drabbels, P.O. Box 443, Hay Springs, NE 69347.
Dorothy Ercil Hankins of Hay Springs, Nebraska unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at her home of heart complications.
Dorothy was born June 29, 1953 in Crawford, Nebraska to John and Ila Rising. She graduated from high school in Lusk, Wyoming in 1971. In 1974, she had a daughter, Dusty. On October 31, 1977 she married Alan Richard Hankins. To this union, Brady and Melissa Hankins were born. Alan Richard Hankins drowned on June 1, 1981. On February 15, 1985, Dorothy was remarried to Randy Hankins, and to this union Cody and Jessica Hankins were born.
Dorothy was a beautician, waitress, and a CNA/Medication Aide. She worked hard all of her life. She loved her family, gardening, and horses.

Mother- Ila Buckley of Crawford, NE.
Sons- Brady Hankins of Chadron, NE; Cody Hankins of Crawford, NE. Daughters- Dusty Brians of Kilgore, NE; Melissa Murray of Crawford, NE; Jessica Hankins of Chadron, NE.
Brother- Bob Rising of Ashland, NE.
Sister- Sandy Rudloff of Crawford, NE.
Grandchildren- 4
Chamberlain-Drabbels Mortuary of Hay Springs is in charge of arrangements.
