Funeral Services for Kathryn K. Lukkes, age 71, of Council Bluffs, IA, formerly of Kearney and Rushville, NE will be Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter’s Church in Council Bluffs, IA. A lunch will follow at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall in Council Bluffs, IA.
Rosary Recitation will be Friday, October 31, 2008 at 3:30 PM at the Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home in Council Bluffs, IA. Visitation will be Friday, October 31, 2008 from 4-6:00 PM at the Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home in Council Bluffs, IA. Burial will be Monday, November 3, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rushville, NE. Memorials are established for the Emergency Mission Fund at Mercy Hospital. Kathryn was born December 27, 1936 in Pierre, SD to the late Theodore J. and Gertrude (Rankin) Wortman. She graduated from Winner, South Dakota High School in 1954 and received her social psychology degree from Kearney Sate College in 1988. Kathryn was a self-employed seamstress, designer and artist. After receiving her degree she worked as a social psychologist. Kathryn was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar and Rosary Society in Council Bluff, IA.
Immediate Survivors: Children- Kathryn Ahern of Copiague, NY; Carol Bankston and husband Paul of Denver, CO; Karen Hartman and husband Max of Snowflake, AZ; Christina Knotek and husband Dan of Council Bluffs, IA; Carmen Carrier and husband Chuck of Bellevue, NE; Carla Licsemeyer and husband Kent of Tucson, AZ; Collete Witkowski and husband John of North Glen, CO; Carl Lukkes and wife Shawna of Sportsylvania, VA; Kimberly Tomka and husband Kenny of Fremont, NE; Kelly Elliot and husband Boyd of Omaha, NE.
