Funeral Services for Maxine M. Lemons, age 85, of Alliance, formerly of Crawford will be Monday, December 1, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Crawford with Father Bernard Berger officiating.
The rosary will be Sunday, November 30th at 7:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Crawford.
Burial will be at the Crawford Cemetery.

Maxine was born February 8, 1923 in Hemingford, Nebraska, to Tom and Ella Katen. She was raised on a farm near Dunlap, and attended school in Hemingford where she graduated in 1940.
She married John G. Lemons on July 26, 1944. The couple lived in Belmont, NE where they were storeowners until a fire destroyed their home and business in 1949. They then relocated to Crawford, NE. She was a secretary for the University of Nebraska Beef Cattle Research Center at Fort Robinson, before transferring to continue work on beef research at Clay Center, NE, until her retirement.
Maxine was a member of the B.P.O.E Does in Scottsbluff, NE and a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. She was also involved with the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Retired Federal Employees Organization.
Maxine was an avid Husker fan and enjoyed camping, crocheting, dancing, and playing cards. She especially enjoyed being involved in her grand children and great children’s activities.

Son- Jerry and wife Sheryl Lemons of Cincinnati, OH.
Daughter- Judy and husband Dennis Bach of Chadron, NE.
Brother- Dale and wife June Katen of Sidney, NE.
