Cristi Shawn Shannon Laue, passed away April 15th at home after a battle with cancer. Services were held Tuesday, April 21st at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron, Nebraska.

 

Cristi, better known as “Red”, was born on July 21st, 1960 to Forrest and Marjorie (Strong) Shannon at Rushville, Nebraska. She grew up on a farm west of Rushville, attended District 14th through the 8th grade and graduated from Rushville High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Chadron State College. She worked at Northwest Community Action and Western Community Health Resources as the Reproductive Health Resources Director for over 20 years.

 

On June 17th, 1989, Cristi married Tim Laue, making their home in Chadron, Nebraska. Camping, fishing, gardening, and adopting pets were a few of her favorite pastime activities. She most enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and friends. Cristi was a devoted member of Friends of Pets and filled their home with many critters, including their dog, Macy, and special felines, Andy and Angus.
