Mass of Christian Burial for George John Shinker Jr., age 76, of Lincoln, NE will be Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chadron, with Father Tim Stoner officiating.
A rosary service will be Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 7:00 PM at Roper and Sons Funeral Home in Lincoln. The family will greet friends from 6:00-7:00 PM prior to the rosary. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 22, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron.
Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Chadron. Memorials may be given to St. Elizabeth’s Hospice, 555 S. 70th St., Lincoln, NE 68510. He was born October 13, 1932 in Dalton, Nebraska, the son of George Sr. and Cora (Van Anne) Shinker. George was a retired High School Superintendent, Teacher and Coach. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Former Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) Board Member and Nebraska Retired School Superintendents.

Daughters & son-in-law- Georgia Stewart, Peggy Jalalian, Ann and Dennis Philbrick all of Lincoln, NE.
