04/25/2009 - Gary A. Kearns

Graveside Services for Gary Allen Kearns, age 61, of Aurora, SD will be Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Cemetery with Dr. Russ Seger officiating. 
 
Visitation will be at Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron.

A memorial service held in Aurora at a later date.
 
Memorials can be sent to Rose Lauderman, 318 Chase Arbor Court, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
 
Gary was born to the late Erma Lorraine Tyree Kearns Frohman, and the late Sylvester (Vex) Edwards Kearns on October 23, 1947 in Rushville, Nebraska. He was drafted into the Army on February 14, 1967 until October 14, 1968 during the Vietnam War. He received a ribbon for being in Vietnam. He was a SP4 as a radio operator. The training he received was in Fort Gordon, Georgia and Fort Huachuca, Arizona. He received an honorable discharge for his services.
 
On November 18, 1972, he was united in marriage to Gerema Ahliquist. Two children were born to this union.
 
Gary was employed by University of South Dakota facilities and services of Brookings, SD. Prior to this, he was an electrician apprentice for Brad Thomas. Prior to moving to SD, he worked for UPS in Gillette, WY.
 
Immediate Survivors:
 
Nieces- Rose Lauderman of Virginia Beach, VA; Stacy Hourt of Chadron, NE.
 
Nephew- Casey Kearns of Laramie, WY
 
Half Brother- Steve Frohman of Hempsted, TX.
 

Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements for Gary Allen Kearns.
