04/28/2009 - Dale Post

Funeral Services for Dale Post, age 85, of Rushville will be Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Chamberlain-Pier Chapel in Gordon with Pastor Michael Wittrock officiating. 
 
Visitation will be Monday, April 27, 2009 from 5:30-7:30 PM at Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home.
 
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Rushville.
 
A memorial has been established for the Dorothy Post Endowment Scholarship Fund, Chadron State College for Future Teachers Fund. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 366, Gordon, NE 69343.
 
Dale Arden Post, of Rushville, Nebraska, was born in Rexford, Kansas, on December 26, 1923, to parents Lewis and Minerva Post. He attended country school through the 8th grade and then graduated from Decatur County High School. In the spring of 1957, he moved to the Rushville area.
             
He married Velma Fowler in August of 1943 and three children were born to this marriage, Earline Landreth, LeArdis (Lynn) Koellermeier, and LeRoy. On December 31, 1959 he married Dorothy Higgins. He was united in holy marriage to Eleonora Gay Hindman October 9, 1993, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rushville, and was blessed with almost 16 years of married life. They farmed and ranched west of Rushville. Dale was a life time farmer. He loved his family and took great pleasure in preserving the land.
 
He was confirmed in the Christian faith at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rushville in December 1997 and was fed the life-giving body and blood of Jesus as a Communicant member.

On April 23, 2009, God called Dale home to heaven.
 
Pallbearers are Stuart Allen Johnson, Ross Elwood, Jerry Scott, Bentley Witt, Dennis Dolezal and Kirk Budd. 
 
Immediate Survivors:

Wife- Eleonora

Daughter- LeArdis (Lynn) Koellermeier.

Son- LeRoy Post.

Son-In-Law- Vern Landreth
 
Grandchildren- John Landreth, Donald (Holly) Landreth, Holly Landreth, Kay (Craig) Mitsch, Doreen (James) Lloyd, Veronica (Cliff) Sears and Nancy Trowbridge.

Great Granchildren- 9

Sister- Nila Wesch.

Brother- Karl Post.

Step-Children- Elin Burgess and Evan (Sharon) Hindman.

Step-Grandchildren- 4
Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
