04/28/2009 - Pearl Marie Urwin

Funeral Services for Pearl Marie Urwin, age 88, of Chadron will be Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Chadron with Pastor Jim Nichols and Pastor Rod Bieber officiating.
 
Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Rushville.
 
Visitations will be on Sunday, April 26th from 3-5:00 PM at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron and on Monday, April 27th from 5-8:00 PM at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Chadron.
A memorial has been established for the Chadron Volunteer Fire and Rescue Unit or the Chadron Seventh Day Adventist Church.
 
Pearl Marie (Ford) Urwin, 88, of Chadron, Nebraska passed away on April 23, 2009.  She was born on January 9, 1921 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Joe and Ida (Spittler) Ford.  At the age of 6 her family moved to the Eli, Nebraska area where she attended rural schools.  While working at the Ralph Goodfellow ranch, she met Ralph Urwin whom she married on April 26, 1941 in Rushville, Nebraska.  They lived and worked at various ranches in the Merriman and Gordon areas before moving to Chadron in 1958.  Pearl and Ralph were blessed with 44 years of marriage until his death in 1985. 
 
Pearl was an active member of the Seventh-Day-Adventist Church for 55 years and it was an important part of her life.  She was also a member of the Isinglass Butte Women’s Club in the Chadron area.  She was known as “The Milk Lady” for 30 years, selling milk, cream and eggs in Chadron. 
 
She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, embroidering, playing Pitch and was an avid reader.  She took great pleasure in caring for her farm livestock as well as her dogs and cats.  She was also known as a wonderful cook who could provide a feast on a moment’s notice, being especially known for her bread rolls, pies and homemade cottage cheese.  Even in later years she was open to learning and doing new things, traveling to Mexico with her family at the age of 86!  
She was united in marriage to Myron McGraw of Broken Bow, Nebraska on April 11, 1992 but later divorced. 
 
Pallbearers are David Robinson, Chris Urwin, Rich Urwin, Matt Ford Rick Stewart and Gary Caparoon.
 
She will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.
 
Immediate Survivors:
 
Sons- John and wife Mary Lou Urwin and Bob Urwin both of Chadron, NE.

Daughters- Marilyn and husband Dannis Robinson of Chadron, NE; Karolyn and husband Alvin Larson of McDonald, TN; Beverly and husband Skip Umshler of Mt. Vernon, MO.
 
Grandchildren- 7
Great Grandchildren- 11
 
Brothers- Wayne and wife Maxine Ford of Council Bluffs, IA; Merle and wife Linda Ford of Seward, NE.
 
Nieces & Nephew-Many
 
Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements.
