07/23/2009 - Bob D. Bredenkamp

Memorial Services for Bob D. Bredenkamp, age 66, of Alliance will be Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 10:00 AM at United Methodist Church in Alliance with Reverend Doug Griger officiating. 
 
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM at the Hay Springs Cemetery.
 
Memorials may be sent in care of the family for the Fisher House, a home for veteran’s families to stay while veterans are hospitalized in VA Medical Centers, or the VAMC in Hot Springs, the Alliance Volunteer Fire Department or the United Methodist Church.
 
Bob D. Bredenkamp died Saturday, July 18, 2009 at the VA Medical Center in Hot Springs, SD.
 
He was born September 16, 1942 in Alliance to Clarence Henry and Lydia Anna (Renken) Bredenkamp.  He was a graduate of Hay Springs High School.
 
On July 3, 1964 he was united in marriage to Patsy Joan Schaper in Hot Springs, SD.
 
He began working for Buettner Construction in Hay Springs doing road construction, and later worked for Henderson Construction in Alliance.  In 1966 he entered the U.S. Marine Corp and served until 1968, including a one year tour of Vietnam.  Following his discharge he returned to Alliance and began working at Groush Irrigation which later became Sargent Irrigation for 27 years.  He than began working for Westco until his retirement this past spring.
 
Bob was a lifetime member of the Eagles.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Boyd and brother-in-law Don Hermansen.

Son- Troy Bredenkamp of Alliance, NE.

Sisters- Wilma and husband Virgil Kleensang of Hay Springs, NE; Portia Hermansen of Hay Springs, NE; Delores and husband Don Jorgensen of Gering, NE.

Brother- Barton and wife Sally Bredenkamp of Niceville, FL.

Bates-Gould Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
