Christian Wake Services for Anastasia (Dooley) Petrig Hopkins, age 94, of North Platte, NE will be Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 7:00 PM at Adams & Swanson Chapel.
 
Mass of the Christian Burial will be Friday, July 31st at 1:30 PM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in North Platte, NE with Reverend James Novakowski will be officiating.
 
Burial will be Saturday, August 1st at 11:30 AM at Calvary Cemetery.

Anastasia (Dooley) Petrig Hopkins passed away July 28, 2009 at Linden Court.
 
She was born on February 1, 1915 to Jeremiah “Jerry” and Loretta “Retty” Powers Dooley in Chadron, Nebraska.
 
Stasia was the 6th of 12 children. She attended grade school at the Pettigrew School in a rural area south of Oelrichs, SD; she went to high school at Assumption Academy in Chadron, NE and Hot Springs High School. She graduated from Hot Springs, SD in 1932. She was a teacher in rural one-room schools following her high school graduation and she taught in many rural schools around the Chadron area for a number of years. She later went back to college and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education at Chadron State College. Stasia also taught at McDaid Elementary in North Platte.
 
She met and married Walter F. Petrig at Ardmore, SD. In later years she married Edward A. Hopkins in June of 1976 in Chadron, NE.
 
Stasia loved to can food for the family; she loved to embroider and cross stitch, making her “specialty” cinnamon rolls for family and friends; she also enjoyed square dancing.
 
Stasia was a long time member of St. Patrick’s Church in Chadron, NE; a 61-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary; President of the Past Presidents group; chairman o the Poppy Project for Memorial Day.
 
Immediate Survivors:
 
Daughter- Lorraine and husband Ken Cox of North Platte, NE.

Son- James and wife Cheryl Petrig of Lincoln, NE.

Grandchildren- Mike and wife Tami Fleshman of Funk, NE; Toni and husband Dave Slattery of North Platte, NE; Shelly and husband Gary Grote of Omaha, NE; Jodi and husband Rick Frager of Lincoln, NE; Glenn Littrell of Arizona; David Littrell of Nebraska.

Great Grandchildren- Kari, Katie, Jessica, Julie Slattery, Carter and Ty Fleshman, Mallory, Jenna Grote, Isabella and Braden Frager.

Sisters- Arlene J. Price of El Paso, TX; Ann and husband Bud Soucie of Campbell, NE.
 
Many nieces and nephews and friends.
 
Adams & Swanson Funeral Home of North Platte, NE is in charge of arrangements.
