Funeral Services for Faye Joseph Stewart, age 91, of Chadron will be Monday, August 17, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron with Pastor Darren Willett officiating. 
 
Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
 
A memorial has been established for the Dawes County Historical Museum. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, P.O. Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.

Faye Joseph Stewart of Chadron passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Crest View Care Center in Chadron. He was 91 years, 10 months, and 6 days old.
 
Faye was born on a farm just south of Chadron to Charley and Alice (Summers) Stewart, and spent the majority of his life within one mile of his birthplace. He was raised on the farm his great-grandparents’ homesteaded, where he lived until ill health brought him into Chadron. He farmed and raised Black Angus cattle, horses, hogs, and chickens.
 
He was a great supporter of the Dawes County Historical Museum, and enjoyed volunteering his time and services whenever possible. In January 1987, Faye received recognition for 30 years of service with the ASCS (Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Services). And in 1998, he was presented with the Nebraska Pioneer Farm Award for 100 years of continuous family ownership for the farm. He was also a member of the Farm Board.

Nephew- Ralph “Tom” Southern of Hastings, NE.

Niece- Theresa Morris and husband Kenny of Hastings, NE.
 
Grandnephews- Shawn Morris and wife Amber of Broken Bow, NE; Kelsey Stewart Morris of Kansas City, MO.

Grandniece- Heather Nabower and husband Jeremy of Roseland, NE.

Great-Grandnephews- 3
Great-Grandnieces- 2

Sister-In-Law- Irene (Wolvington) Stewart of Chadron, NE.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles, sister Inez, brother-in-law Charles “Bill” Southern, and niece Mary Catherine Southern.
 
Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements.
