11/02/2009 - Iva Lee Martin

Funeral Services for Iva Lee Martin, age 91, of Chadron, will be Monday, November 2, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church of Chadron with Pastor Seth Leypoldt officiating.     

A memorial has been established for Crestview Care Center.  Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, P.O. Box 970, Chadron, NE.

Iva Lee Martin died on October 28, 2009 at CrestviewCareCenter in Chadron.
 
Iva was born April 23, 1918 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Levi and Missouri Belle Shadle. She attended school through the tenth grade in Arkansas. She was the youngest of nine brothers and sisters.
 
On a trip to visit her brother in Arizona she met and married Hollie Martin. They raised two children, Norman and Sandra.
 
Iva enjoyed music and dancing and sang almost all the time. They moved to Nebraska from California in 1961 where Iva taught dance in Long Pine and later in Chadron. She and Hollie operated Mar-Bow Music and Archery Company in Chadron from 1962 until 1974 when Hollie retired. She and Hollie were also involved in competitive target archery and square dancing during their years together. Iva was a member of the Bordeaux Art Society of Chadron and was well known for her oil paintings in the Chadron Area. Hollie died in 1991.

Son- Norm and wife Betty Martin of Chadron, NE.

Daughter- Sandy Martin of Long Pine, NE.

Sister- Jo Faughn of Littlerock, AK.

Grandchildren- Troy and wife Catherine of Chicago, IL; Caryn and husband Todd Ziettlow of North Bend, NE; Laura Martin of Venice Beach, CA.

Great Grandchildren- Zander Ziettlow of North Bend, NE.

Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements.
