Funeral Services for Harold Dohse, age 89, of Gordon, NE, will be Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Gordon with Pastor Kevin Burkhardt officiating.

Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Gordon Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Gordon Volunteer Fire Department. Donations may be sent to First National Bank of Gordon, P.O. Box 290, Gordon, NE 69343.

Dohse died November 27 at Emerald Court Alzheimer’s facility in Scottsbluff, NE.

Harold Alwyn Dohse was the son of Carl & Ellen Rodgers Dohse. He was born four miles west of White Clay, NE and passed away November 27, 2009 at Emerald Court Alzheimer’s Facility in Scottsbluff, NE at the age 89 years. He attended first grade south west of Gordon and 2nd thru 8th southeast of Gordon graduating from High School in 1942. He worked his way through high school milking cows morning and night for Lester Hess Dairy. He also worked for Andy, Carl & Oscar Nielsen. He was always proud that from the time he left home at the ages of 13 he was never with out a paycheck.

After graduation he continued at the Creamery until the fall of 1942 when he entered the army. He was sent to Guadal Canel where he developed serious malaria and was later medically discharged and returned to work at the Creamery until 1951. He wen to work for Herb & Ken Lang and Earl Kayton, buyin gout Earl’s Shares in 1954. Harold and Ken Lang later built the Sheridan Dairy and ran until selling to the Gillette Dairy in 1981. Harold ran two star routes until turning them over to Ken and Doris Lang.

Sisters- Doris and husband Ken Lang, Anna Marie and husband Gene Belsky both of Gordon, NE; Vonna and husband Dick Anderson of Glenwood Springs, CO.

Brother- Earl of Gordon, NE.

Nieces & Nephews, Cousins & Friends- Many
