Funeral Services for Patricia “Jimmie” L. Tapio-Good Voice Flute, age 67, of Pine Ridge, SD will be Friday, December 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with Reverend Steve Sanford officiating.
A one night wake will begin Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD.
Burial will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Pine Ridge, SD.
Patricia “Jimmie” L. Tapio-Good Voice Flute was born on April 24, 1942 to Raymond Tapio and Bertha Janis. She went to school at Red Cloud Holy Rosary until high school, she later quit and joined the Teachers Corps Program at Black Hills State College where she eventually earned her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education.
She married her love, Roy Red Shirt, and born to this marriage were two daughters, Candace and Raedean, and one son Darrell Martin all of Pine Ridge, SD. She also adopted her oldest grandson, Scott Dreamer. Jimmie Love taught several grades during her 39 years at Pine Ridge School. She touched and inspired students and staff. Jimmie later married Harold Good Voice Flute of Oglala. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, brother and husbands. Immediate Survivors:
Sons- Darrell Richards, Scott Dreamer both of Pine Ridge, SD.
Daughters- Candy Red Shirt, Raedean Red Shirt both of Pine Ridge, SD.
Brother- Delbert Tapio of Rapid City, SD.
Sisters- Catherine Steele, Delores Good Crow, Betty Wilson all of Pine Ridge, SD.
Grandchildren- 7
Great Grandchildren- 13 Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements.
