12/19/2009 - Lyla Marie Whitehouse

Memorial Services for Lyla Marie Whitehouse of Collinsville, OK, formerly of Chadron will be Saturday, December 19, at 2:00 pm at Immanuel Church in Chadron.  Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Chadron..

She was born May 30, 1949.  She spent the first ten years of her life in Nebraska Then ten years in Colorado where she graduated from high school, then to California. She lived in Chadron from 1994 to 2007.  She was living in Collinsville, OK, at the time of her death.

Lyla is survived by two daughters. Megan Liar and her husband Robert along with their three boys;  Patti Kendall and her two boys, all of Collinsville, OK.  Lyla’s youngest daughter Brittany Koehn preceeded her in death in 1997.
Lyla also leaves to mourn her parents and four sisters.  Her parents 
are Donna Ahrens of Hay Springs, NE and Don Gowin of Alliance, NE.  
Her sisters are Louise Hitchcock, her husband Dave and daughter 
Krista, in Colorado;  Stephony Hinrichs, her husband and their two sons in South Dakota;  Gretchen Lees, her husband Jay in Chadron;  and Heather Ahrens in Hay Springs, NE, her daughter and two sons.  She also has many cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be two Memorials Services for Lyla.  One in Collinsville, OK and another at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Chadron, NE at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 19th.  Her ashes will be inurned at Greenwood Cemetery in Chadron, where her daughter Brittany rests.
