Fannie Edna Lynette Doyle was born on May 16, 1916 in Stuart, Iowa and passed away from pneumonia on January 11, 2010 at the Chadron Community Hospital. She had her education in the Harrison Township School in Adair County, Iowa. She helped her parents on the farm until she moved to Harrison, Nebraska to help her sister and brother-in-law prior to the birth of their son, Leonard Howard in March of 1940. She loved music and enjoyed playing the piano and guitar. She was also a very talented poet and wrote many poems, including one about Sioux County, Nebraska.

During the summer of 1940, she met Thomas Doyle. They were married in November 1940 and lived on a ranch northeast of Harrison until his death in 1981. After Tom’s passing, she and her widowed sister, Marie Howard purchased a home in Harrison where she resided until her declining health resulted in her moving to the Ponderosa Nursing Home in Crawford, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her husband Tom; her parents Joseph and Mary F. (Thompson) Saylor. Most of her siblings are gone, Glen and his wife Mary; Marie and husband Virgil Howard; Dorothy and husband Earl Stewart; Corrine and Husband Pete Funke; Dale Saylor and wife Trudy; Marion Saylor and wife Beverly; and brother-in-laws William McGinnis and Louis Nelson, and sister-in-law Doris June Saylor.  Tom’s parents, Tom & Mary and brother-in-laws Charlie Staudenmaier and Jack Doyle, sister-in-laws Kate Eberspecher, Mary Jordan, Tracey Lacy, and Anna Lacy.

There are many who helped to care for her needs in her home until the time of moving to the nursing home. Special thanks to Elaine for her meals and also to her nephew Dan Jordan and his wife Crystal in Harrison.
