Funeral services for June Knapp, age 78, of Chadron, will be Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron with Reverend Sylvia High Karlsson officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 20th from 6-8:00 PM at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron.
Burial will be at the Alliance Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Crawford Volunteer Fire Department or the Greenwood Cemetery Kiosk Fund. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, P.O. Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.

June Knapp passed away the morning of January 15, 2010 at the Chadron Community Hospital.
June was born on October 1, 1931, to C.A. (Pat) and Fern (Porter) Simpson of Alliance, Nebraska. She graduated from Alliance High School in 1950, and married Carl Knapp the following September. Carl was stationed at Camp Carson in Colorado Springs, and they made their early home there in a one-room apartment. After Carl’s discharge, they returned to Alliance, moving to their home place near Crawford in 1953. They lived there the rest of their lives, raising wheat, cattle, and two daughters.
June was a Past President of the Crawford Eagles Auxiliary. She loved going to auctions, traveling, collecting buttons, and tracing the family genealogy. She worked hard her entire life, and was always in good spirits and willing to help. Her brownies were legendary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, her husband, and an infant son, Ronnie Gene.

Daughters- Carla of Whitney, NE; Karyn and husband Tuffy Snook of Wayside, NE.
