Nona Anna Kutschara passed away at her home at the age 102 on March 4, 2010 with her family members by her side.

Nona was born March 14, 1907 at the family home south of Hay Springs to Reinhard and Emma Eitler (Kerchberger). She received her education at SandridgeSchool. She worked hard helping her father in the fields planting and haying with a team of horses.

On February 28, 1928 she married Dale Kutschara. To this union two daughters were born, Margaret Ann (Raymer) and Ella Marie (Galyen).

Nona and Dale lived on the farm 7 miles south of Hay Springs. They were members of the ZionLutheranChurch in Hay Springs. Nona was a hard worker, doing without many of the modern conveniences. She had a large garden, canned every year, worked in the fields and raised her family.

In 1975 Dale passed away. Nona continued to live on the home place until 2005. After 77 years on the farm she moved into Hay Springs where she dearly loved her apartment at SunsetHeights. She treasured visits from family and friends, made quilts, crocheted doilies and played cards. One of the highlights of her day was driving to the Senior Citizen Center to spend time with friends.

In September 2008 Nona fell and broke her hip. She recovered at Highland ParkCareCenter and Pioneer Manor. Unable to return to her apartment, Nona moved to Alliance with her daughter Ella in August 2009. It was here that she stayed active teaching her great-great grandchildren how to play Kings in the Corner. She looked forward to their visits. Throughout five generations she touched the hearts of many.

Nona was preceeded in death by her parents, Emma and Reinhard Eitler, Husband Dale Kutschara, Sisters, Alma Morro and Christine Crawford, Brother-in-laws, Chancey Crawford, Bill Perry and Garnet Hunter, Son-in-law, Delmar Galyen.
