Graveside services for Velma Wessling, age 83, of Gordon will be Saturday April 17, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Gordon Cemetery with Reverend Al Trucano officiating.
A memorial has been established for the American Diabetes Association.
Velma died Monday, April 12, 2010, at Regional West Medical Center.
She was born March 7, 1927, in Gordon, to Lee and Alice Forster.
Velma was a member in good standing with the DAVA and VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She volunteered at the Hot Springs Veterans Hospital for many years, also at the Veterans Home in Scottsbluff. She has received many awards for service to the veterans.
Velma was preceded in death by her husband Leon Wessling and son Floyd Furrey and stepson John Furrey.

Daughter- Donna Staton Grandson- Edward of Vine Grove, KY
Brother- Vereen Forster Nephews & Nieces- Bart Forster of Gordon, NE; Bryan Forster of Gordon, NE; Tammy Zarate of KS; Vicky Forster of Gordon, NE. Sister- Vesta Thomas of Pampa, TX. Stepsons- Charles Furrey of OR; Earl Furrey of KS; Harley Furrey of Scottsbluff, NE. Step-Grandchildren- 13 Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
