Funeral services for Helen Tiensvold, age 75, of Rushville will be Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rushville with Father James Joseph & Father Tim Stoner officiating.
Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Rushville, NE.
A rosary will be Wednesday, May 12th at 7:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Helen Louise Arthur Tiensvold of Rushville died Monday, May 10, 2010 at Gordon Memorial Hospital after a hard fought and courageous battle with Leukemia.
She was born September 3, 1934 to Ed and Mary Arthur, the fourth of seven children. She attended the Rushville schools and graduated high school in 1952. Helen married Leo Tiensvold on June 28, 1954. A year later their son Chuck was born. Two years later their daughter, Carol was born. Another daughter was born and lived 1 hour, followed by another son that died at birth.
Helen worked several places in her lifetime. She was the early morning cook at the Food Bowl for many years. Helen’s homemade cinnamon rolls had a far reaching reputation.
At the age of 54 Helen decided to fulfill a lifetime dream and enrolled in the Nursing program in Alliance offered by Western Nebraska Community College. She completed school and became a licensed LPN in December of 1989. Leo died unexpectedly in January 1990. At this same time she went to work at Parkview Lodge Nursing Home for the next 9 years. She became the elementary school nurse in 1999, where she worked for the next ten years. She loved working in the school system and truly loved the kids.
Throughout her lifetime, Helen was involved in the American Legion Auxiliary, Girl Scouts, RSVP and her church. Hobbies included baking, crafts and gardening. She took great and caring pleasure in her family, friends and colleagues and was always willing to help. She was a very caring and compassionate woman.

Sons- Chuck and wife Merrilee Tiensvold of Rio Vista, TX.
Daughter- Carol and husband Wad Milburn of Rushville, NE.
Sisters- Mary Jean and husband Blake Beguin; Dorothy and husband Eugene Nyffler; Joyce and husband Frank Reed all of Rushville, NE.
Brothers- Chuck Arthur of Chadron, NE; Robert and wife Joann Arthur of Mission Viejo, CA; Gerald Arthur of Denver, CO.
Grandchildren- Courtney Milburn and Lindsey Milburn both of Rushville, NE.
Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
