Funeral services for Alma M. Dye, age 90, of Chadron will be Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Chadron Community Church with Pastor Dominick Warne officiating.

Burial will be at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, California.
 
A memorial has been established for the Missions Fund of the Chadron Community Church (Assembly of God Church). Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, Po Box 970, Chadron, Nebraska 69337.

She was born on October 15, 1919 to Edgar and Emma Moore in rural Zafra, Oklahoma. The depression was especially difficult in that part of the country and being the eldest of four daughters and she was very involved in helping the family. Alma graduated from Hatfield, Arkansas high school. She was active in the war effort by working in a uniform factory in Dallas and when the family migrated to California in 1942, Alma was a welder at the Stockton, California shipyards. While working at the shipyard she met her husband. Alma and James Dye married on August 16, 1944 in Stockton, California and resided on the same place for 63 years. Stability and loyalty described their union. Alma did seasonal work for the same Del Monte cannery for forty years but her family, home, and church were always her highest priority. She always provided good home cooked meals and an immaculate house. Quilting and sewing projects were ongoing.
 
Alma was very active and faithful to the Assemblies of God church and participated in its Women’s Ministries program.
 
Pallbearers for the service will be James Dye, Luke Dye, Daniel Dye, Jonathan Francis, Luigi Heydt, and Jerry Wood.
Immediate Survivors:

Husband of 65 years, James Dye of Chadron, NE.

Son- Bruce and wife Laurie Dye of Chadron, NE.

Sister- Ruby of Dallas, TX.

Grandchildren- 8
Great-Grandchildren- 8

Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements.
