Josie Jean Curtis died May 25, 2010, at Gordon Countryside Care. She was born August 21, 1942, to Hermann H. Eberle and Iva Williams-Eberle in Craig, Colorado.

On June 1, 1958, she married James H. Curtis at Silt, Colorado. To this union 5 children were born.

First and foremost Josie was a mother and a homemaker. Her and her husband Jim worked on a number of ranches in Nebraska, including the Borman Ranch, Minor Ranch, and Fawn Lake Ranch. After that Josie and Jim moved to Grant, Montana, where they contracted fence building, along with cutting timber for the Forest Service. During the winter months, they worked for the L.C. Ranch in Grant. They moved back to the Gordon area in 1989, due to Jim's failing health. Josie went to work as a cook for the Western Cafe for the next 14 years.

Josie was a nature lover and enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, and fishing. She loved the large family gatherings at her home on holidays and for other special events. She was an avid card player, whether it was a pinochle or cribbage game, or playing solitaire on her computer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister.
