Funeral services for Vivian G. Savage, age 85, of Chadron will be Monday, June 14, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron with Pastor Seth Leypoldt officiating.
Burial will be at the Kilgore Cemetery at Kilgore, NE at approximately 1:00 p.m. MDT. A luncheon will be served at the Kilgore Community Hall following the graveside services. Everyone is welcome.
Memorials may be made to the Cody American Legion Auxiliary, of which Vivian was a lifetime member. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE. 69337.
Vivian G. Savage passed away at Crest View Care Center in Chadron on June 4, 2010.
Vivian Geneva Hart was born June 14, 1924 to Cecil and Norma (Horner) Hart at Kilgore, NE. She was the 3rd of 5 children born to Cecil and Norma. Vivian quit school during her sophomore year to work and help support the family.
Vivian married Milton Savage on October 23, 1944 in Valentine, NE. They lived in Nevada while Milton was in the Army Air Corp. After he was discharged they moved back to Kilgore, to manage the family ranch. To this union 3 children were born, Lavern, Carroll and Connie Jo.
Vivian worked at the Cody Kilgore school as a janitor until her retirement. Vivian moved to Chadron in 1989 after putting Milton in Crest View Care Center. She enjoyed meeting new people, going dancing on Sat. nights at the VFW, playing Bingo and cards at the Senior Center. She worked for a while for Dr. Steve Wasserburger and at Chamberlain Chapel as she enjoyed being around and meeting people. Vivian enjoyed being with family and especially her grandchildren. Vivian was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son, Carroll.

Brothers- Donald Hart of Hooper, NE; Kenneth Hart of Mesa, AZ.
Sisters- Dorothy Savage of Ravenna, NE; Shirley Hand of Fremont, NE.
Son- Lavern and wife Charlene Savage of Chadron, NE.
Daughter- Connie Jo and Jay Bossert of Lisco, NE.
Granchildren- Shawn Savage, Shelley Wietzke, Michael Savage, Tammy, Traci, Teri Jo and Travis Bossert.
Step-Grandchildren- 3
Great-Grandchildren- 5
Nieces and Nephews- Numerous
Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements.
