Funeral services for Lloyd Taylor, age 87, of Alliance will be Friday, June 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Bates-Gould Chapel with Reverend Ron Nuss-Warren officiating.
Burial will be in the Rushville Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Bates-Gould Chapel Thursday, June 10th from 10am-8pm.
Memorials may be given in care of the family at, 623 Circle C, Alliance, NE 69301.

Lloyd Taylor died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Good Samaritan Health Care Center in Alliance.
Lloyd was born November 24, 1922 in Rushville, Nebraska to William and Myrtle (Lockmon) Taylor.
He grew up in the Clinton area and graduated valedictorian from the Clinton High School in May of 1942. Following graduation he helped his father on the farm until winter and then worked at the Amour Packing Plant in Sioux City, Iowa. Beginning in 1944 he served in the Army during World War II in Germany and was honorably discharged in May of 1946. Following his discharge he returned to White Clay and farmed with his father and worked at the Smith Store.
On May 27, 1950 he married Iris (Garrard) Hornby. Iris had two little girls, Linda and Betty, who Lloyd loved and cared for as his own. They then moved to Omaha where he went to Barber College and graduated January 12, 1951. He then barbered in Elgin and Alliance, Nebraska before then going to White Clay and working at the Smith Barber Shop.
In 1956 he moved his family to Seattle, Washington where he went to work for the Boeing Aircraft Company as a draftsman engineer and got his degree. He continued to barber on his days off until his girls were out of school. In the summer of 1960 he returned to Rushville where he worked with his father in the carpentry business until purchasing the Brownlow Barber Shop.
On July 16, 1962 he married Elizabeth (Taylor) Goldon at Lakewood, Colorado. Elizabeth had two young sons, Todd and Wallace that he also loved and cared for as his own. He continued to barber in Rushville until 1997 when they sold their home and business and moved to Alliance. In 2001 he received his 50 year barber award.
He was a member of the Rushville United Methodist Church, the American Legion, the V.F.W., and the D.A.V.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Samuel Taylor, and his half brother Van Crouter.
