Doyle Lee Davis was called home by our Lord on June 12, 2010. He was born to George and Julia (Watson) Davis on November 30, 1953.

Doyle attended school in Hay Springs and graduated in 1972. He attended college at Fort Collins, Colorado for seven semesters; he then transferred to Chadron State College for three more semesters. While attending school he farmed the home place and assisted others with farming and ranching duties.

Doyle thoroughly enjoyed horseback riding, which developed into an interest in rodeoing. He followed the rodeo circuit for two summers, entering bull riding, and bareback riding events. In 1974, Doyle was employed for a short time by Nebraska Beef Packers on the cutting floor. He then returned to farming full time until his Father’s passing in 1979. At which time Doyle took over his Father’s mail route, and continued carrying mail for three years. He then returned to Nebraska Beef Packers as a truck driver, buying and operating his own truck.

In July of 1984, Doyle was severely injured in a swimming accident. He was confined to a wheelchair for the last twenty-six years of his life. Handling his injury with dignity and determination, he refused to allow his disability to prevent him from attending his children’s sports events, or stop him from socializing with friends and family.

Doyle was the father of four children; Dusta Kathryn, Nathan Doil, Cody James, and Nolan Lyle. His fervent wish was that his children understand how precious they where to him and how much he loved them.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to mourn his passing his children, his sister Nayda Davis, and numerous cousins and friends.
