Funeral services for Irene Earlene (Wolvington) Stewart, age 83, will be Friday, July 23, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron with Pastor Randy Gulbranson officiating.
Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 5-7:00 PM at Chamberlain Chapel.
A memorial has been established for the Open Door Church. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, P.O. Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.

Irene Earlene (Wolvington) Stewart passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Pioneer Manor in Hay Springs, Nebraska.
Irene was born on July 16, 1926 to Earl and Frances (Hanks) Wolvington in rural Dawes County, in what was then the town of Wolvington, NE. She grew up and attended school at Dawes County District #5 and graduated from Hay Springs High School in 1944. She taught school several years before marrying Charles A. Stewart on December 26, 1947.
They moved to their farm in 1948 and together they farmed in the Hemingford area until Charles’ death on November 8, 1984. After his death she moved into Chadron and continued to operate the farm. She was a devoted wife, and loved her nephews and nieces, treating them very special. She loved to cook family holiday meals. She enjoyed her garden and her flowers.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; Parents, Earl and Frances Wolvington; Brother, Ival Wolvington; Sister-in-law, Inez Southern; and Brothers-in-law, Faye Stewart and Charles Southern.

Nephews- Randy and wife Donna Wolvington of Chadron, NE; Paul and wife Kathy Wolvington of Chadron, NE; Mark and wife Dorothy Wolvington of Auburn, WA; Ralph “Tom” Southern of Hastings, NE. Nieces- Rosemary Wolvington (John Hindman) of Rapid City, SD; Sherri and husband Don Dudley of Sidney, NE; Terri and husband Kenneth Morris of Hastings, NE. Special Sister-In-Law- Joan Wolvington of Alliance, NE. Special Cousin- Dennis Hanks of Hay Springs, NE. Great-Nephews- Patrick, Robert, and Michael Wolvington; Shawn and wife Amber Morris, Kelsey Morris.
Great-Nieces- Morgan and husband Lucas Line, Maggie Wolvington, Rebecca and husband Joe Beardsley, Heather and husband Jeremy Nabower, Teri Wolvington. Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements.
