07/24/2010 - Wendell L. Hakanson
Funeral Service for Wendell L. Hakanson, age 62, of Council Bluffs, IA, will be Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the mortuary in Council Bluffs with Reverend Timmy Gibson, nephew of Wendell, officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, July 23, 2010 from 6-8:00 PM at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel.
Additional visitation will be Monday, July 26, 2010 from 10-11:00 AM at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron, Nebraska.
A graveside service with full military detail will follow at 11:00 AM at GreenwoodCemetery in Chadron with Reverend Marvin Blundell officiating.
A memorial has been established.

Wendell L. Hakanson passed away suddenly at his home on July 19, 2010. Wendell was born October 6, 1947 in Chadron, Nebraska to the late Lyle and Vera (Whetstone) Hakanson. He graduated from OmahaBensonHigh School in 1966 and attended U.N.O. for 3 years. Wendell served his country in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War. He married Peggy Sigler on September 24, 1981 in Omaha. Wendell was a truck driver for Brown Transfer for the past 18 years. He was a member of the Gold Wing Touring Association. Wendell was preceded in death by his brother, Glen Hakanson.
