Funeral Services for Boyd Michael Bannan, age 34, for will be Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds, Lusk, WY.
A memorial college scholarship fund has been set up for Boyd’s children at Lusk State Bank in Lusk, WY.
Boyd Michael Bannan, age 34, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010 in an accident while working in Niobrara County, Wyoming.
Boyd was born in Chadron, Nebraska to Jim and Gloria (Whiting) Bannan on December 20, 1975. He was raised on the family ranch northeast of Harrison, NE. Boyd attended school in Harrison and graduated from Sioux County High School in 1994. He was actively involved in 4-H, FFA and loved showing cattle. Boyd graduated in 1996 with an Associates degree in Agricultural Production from Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. While attending NCTA he was a member of the men’s basketball team, and rode bulls for the rodeo team.
Boyd married Melanie Stewart in the summer of 1996. To that union a daughter, Breanne Halee, was born. During that time Boyd was employed by Earl Bestol in the sandhills near Purdum, NE. Boyd later moved back to the family ranch after their divorce.
On September 3, 2005 Boyd married Leslie Stradtman of Boyes, MT. Boyd and Leslie have two daughters, Angelina Rose, and Francheska Belle. They live near Lusk, WY. Boyd loved riding horses and helping his family on the ranch. At the time of his death he was employed by J.D. and Laurie Wasserburger. There he worked in the oilfield and assisted with ranch work. J.D.’s family means a lot to Boyd, Leslie, and girls. Boyd had a passion for hunting and was an outstanding guide. Harvesting his first trophy bull October 2008, he proudly shared that moment with his two youngest daughters and wife.
Boyd was preceded in death by grandparents Laurance Bannan, Roy and Bessie (Willis) Whiting.
Boyd loved all of his family and friends very much. Everything he did Boyd put his heart into. Boyd will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of having him as a part of their lives.
He will be remembered as a loving father, husband, brother, and son.
Immediate Survivors:
Wife- Leslie Daughters- Breanne, Angelina, and Francheska.
Grandmother- Ila Mae (Buckley) Bannan. Parents- Jim and Gloria (Whiting) Bannan.
