Funeral services for Lela L. Clark, age 94, will be Monday, July 26, 2010, at 2:00 PM at the Chamberlain Chapel in Crawford.

 

Burial will be at the Crawford Cemetery

 

A memorial is established for the Ponderosa Villa and the Crawford Fire Department, donations may be left at the Security 1st Bank in Crawford, P O Box 506, Crawford, NE or the Chamberlain Chapel, P O Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337

 

Lela passed away July 22, 2010, at the Ponderosa Villa in Crawford, Lela was born December 3, 1915, to Wm Harry and Frances (English) Fry, 2 miles east of Crawford on her home place she stilled owned.

 

Lela and Raymond were married May 23, 1935, in Alliance, NE and lived their 1st 6 years with his parents Abraham and August Clark working along with them on what in now Jacque and Joanne Norman’s. They then rented the Vetter place until moving to the Flag Butte area on Deadhorse road where Ralene was born in 1948. In 1949 they moved to the Ralph White farm (now Bob Hawthorne residence). In 1959, they purchase their farm/ranch at Squaw Mound. They lived here until Raymond’s health deteriorated in 1987 when they moved to Crawford. Lela enjoy working alongside Ray in the fields, raised a huge garden. She also enjoyed dancing, sewing, quilting, playing cards and life. She adjusted amazing well to “town” life and went to live in Ponderosa Villa Assisted Living in 2006. Lela was a member of the Rose Hill Extension Club and the Squaw Mound Extension Club for 28 years.

Grandson- Jay Suchor and wife Missi of Gillette, WY

 

Great-grandchildren Peytonn Suchor, Dalton Suchor and ShaeLynn Suchor of Gillette, WY

 

Nephews- Rodney (Lela) Daniels, Morrill, NE and Roger Fry of Lake Havasu City, AZ

 

Niece- Gloria (Mike) Hudson, Lake Havasu City, AZ

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Raymond F. Clark in 1987, her parents Wm Harry & Frances (English) Fry, sister Verna Daniels and brother Wayne Fry and all of her brothers and sisters-in-law.
