Alma Kirchhevel Storjohann, age 94, passed away, August 11th, 2010, at the Ponderosa Villa, Crawford, Nebraska. Alma was born August 4, 1916, at Armour, South Dakota.

 

Alma did not bear any children of her own and lost her first husband, Robert Chapman in 1958. She married Laurence Storjohann in 1966 and operated the Café in the Chamberlain Livestock Auction at Chamberlain, South Dakota until 1979 when they retired and moved to Chadron, Nebraska.

 

Alma Kirchhevel Storjohann’s family names:

 

Grandparents: Christian Kirchhevel, born in 1857 near Odessa, Russia, died in 1938 at age 81. Chrisitian married Marie Boettcher who was born in 1864 near Odessa, Russia.  She died in 1930 at age 66.

 

Parents:

Father: Edward D. Kirchhevel, born March 30, 1887 near Odessa Russia and came to the US with his parents at age 2. Her mother, Helen Pfahl was born November 1, 1889 also near Odessa Russia. She came with her parents to the US when she was 11. They settled in Moore Township. Eight children, five boys and one girl, were born to this marriage, two died in infancy.

 

Brothers:

            Walter born April 7, 1911 and married Gertie Topper in 1936.

            Arthur born July 12, 1912 and married Angelena DeVrien in 1942.

            Gerhardt, born in 1915 and married Clara Peters (died in 1974)

            Albert Born 1918 (died in 1943)

            Norman born July 19, 1927 and married Freda Mikkelsen

 

She was preceded in death by husband Laurence Storjohann and five brothers.
