Donald “Oscar” Wayne Toof was born in Rushville, Nebraska on November 3, 1965 currently of Chadron, Nebraska passed away at age 44, in North Platte, Nebraska on August 16, 2010. 

Oscar grew up in Hay Springs, Nebraska with a large extended family. No matter where we went, he ran into family and friends or was in the process of making new friends. He graduated high school and joined the Army in 1984, returning in 1987. He met Angela Hessler and they were married on December 3, 1998. Together they had three children, Justin, Jesse, and Jolleen, whom he was extremely proud of. During this time, Oscar, joined the Guards and helped to fight the fires in Crawford, Nebraska, receiving an Emergency Service Award Metal. 

 

Oscar attended and graduated Western Nebraska Community College attaining an Associate of Applied Science Degree, but Oscar’s love was for his family and driving trucks. Oscar worked for nine years at East West Motor Express, and received an award for one million miles without any accidents. He took a position with Muddy Creek Oil located here in Chadron that was later sold to Harms Oil. He was tired of being gone for weeks on end and wanted to be home with his family. He will be dearly missed.
