Funeral services for William “Bill” Henry Reed, age 79, of Hay Springs will be Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Hay Springs with Pastor Rod Heilbrun officiating.
Burial will be in the Hay Springs Catholic Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Gordon Countryside Care, Park View Lodge Assisted Living. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Drabbels Mortuary, P.O. Box 443, Hay Springs, NE 69347.

William “Bill” Henry Reed, age 79, of Hay Springs passed away on August 20, 2010 at Pioneer Manor in Hay Springs, Nebraska.
Bill was born on February 28, 1931 in Gordon, Nebraska to Dewey and Freida (Hugen) Reed. He grew up in the sand hills on his parent’s farm south of Gordon. He served in the Marines from 1952 to 1954 in Korea. He married Lois Kleve on April 16, 1955. To this union four children were born. He worked in construction most of his life until he retired. He was a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lois who passed away in 1998.

Sons- Gary and wife Deb Reed of Casper, WY; Larry and wife Betty Reed of Maple Wood, MN.
Daughters- Shirley and husband Brian Roberts, Sharon and husband Joe Fry of Chadron, NE. Sisters- Jane Hilliker of Gordon, NE; Bonnie and husband Lynn Hilliker of Gordon, NE; Carol and husband JB Scott of Rushville, NE. Brother- Bob and wife Connie Reed of Hay Springs, NE. Grandchildren- 10
