A reception in honor of Carol Jean French, age 70 of Chadron, will be Friday, September 3, 2010 at the Country Kitchen in Chadron from 2-4:00 PM. Please park in back and enter in west door. A memorial has been established for Festival of Hope, Cancer Treatment Center, 3911 Ave. B, Suite G 100, Scottsbluff, NE 69361.

Carol Jean French died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010 at Chadron Community Hospital.
She was born Dec. 17, 1939 in Minatare, Nebraska. She was a graduate of Minatare H.S. Class of 1957. Carol went on to complete nursing school at West Nebraska General Hospital and graduated in 1960, with a diploma in Nursing. She attended and graduated from Nurse Anesthesia School at McKennon Hospital in 1971.
She married George French and to this union 2 children were born, Brenda Lee and Douglas Dale.
She worked as a floor staff nurse, Director of Nursing, Director of hospice and home health care and surgery and recovery room nurse. Carol worked in many area panhandle hospitals and also worked in hospitals in Norfolk, Omaha and Sioux Falls SD.
Carol tried numerous hobbies throughout her life, but she was always happiest taking care of her patients, family and friends, especially her dog “Suzie”.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Harry Kane Bartel & Leah (Becker) Bartel and one Grand Daughter, Rayna von Forell.3

Daughter- Brenda and husband Gene Von Forell of Crawford, NE Son- Doug and and wife Janelle French of Papillion, NE Brother- Harve and and wife Jeri Bartel of Scottsbluff, NE
Her beloved Dog “Suzie”. Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements.
