Funeral services for Wayne Wilkins, age 75, of Alliance will be Friday, September 17, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Bates-Gould Chapel with Father James Heithoff officiating.
Burial with military rites will be in the Alliance Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Bates-Gould Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 AM-8:00 PM.
Memorials may be given to the Alliance Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Unit.

Wayne Wilkins died Monday, September 13, 2010 at Box Butte General Hospital in Alliance.
He was born June 16, 1935 in Alliance, Nebraska to Orville T. and Audrey V. (Hashman) Wilkins.
Wayne served in the United States Army for two years and was honorably discharged in November of 1958. On March 15, 1958 he married Leona M. Walters. To this union, three daughters were born. He later married Eileen (O’Malley) Whartman on January 9, 1969.
Wayne was a lifetime area rancher and a member of the American Legion Post #7, the Eagles Club and the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA).
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Wife- Eileen Wilkins of Alliance, NE.
Daughters- Annette and husband Larry Mitchell of Lincoln, NE; Molly and husband William Jennings of O’Neill, NE; Mary Wilkins and husband Galen Hauseman of Kalamazoo, MI.
Step-Daughter- Jeanne and husband Hollis Hackman of Sheridan, WY.
Step-Sons- Duane Whartman of Alliance, Jim and wife P.J. Whartman of Loveland, CO; Paul and wife Jody Whartman of Alliance, NE.
Grandchildren- 14
Great Grandchildren- 3
Brothers- Carl and wife Iris Wilkins of Chadron, NE; Lonnie Wilkins of Marsland, NE.
Bates-Gould Funeral Home of Alliance is in charge of arrangements.
