Funeral services for Robert Lewis Lemmon, age 95, of Crawford will be Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Crawford with Reverend George Kilmer officiating.

A visitation will be Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from 5-7:00 PM at Chamberlain Chapel in Crawford.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons; Roy Lemmon, Toby Kendrick, Don Lemmon, Joe Lemmon, Jerry Mack, John Lemmon, Robert Lemmon, and Jace Lemmon.

Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters; Lisa Hillyer, Misty Nilson, Lori Ballagh, Shari Moore, Bobbi Stengel, Margo Mack, Jennifer Lemmon, and Karla Lemmon.

Robert Lewis Lemmon died Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the Chadron Community Hospital.

Robert was born October 30, 1914 eleven miles east of Crawford in Dawes County to Roy and Anna (Neece) Lemmon. He grew up with his family on a ranch south of Whitney and graduated from Whitney High School.

On December 5, 1938 he married Dorothy Lucille Thomas in Hot Springs, South Dakota. They were married for over fifty years. He spent his life farming and ranching in Nebraska and Wyoming.

Robert was a proud life-long member of the Saddle Rock Riding Club. He enjoyed his family, horses, hunting, and good friends. He spent over fifty years hosting hunters from across the country. He welcomed them into his home and many became a part of the family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, infant daughter, two sons, David and Jim, his parents, two brothers Lee “Mick” and Calvin, and sister Elizabeth Pollard.

Sons- Robert and wife Eleanor of Torrington, WY; John and wife Lynn of Valentine, NE.

Daughters- Roberta Mack of Crawford, NE; Elizabeth Kendrick and husband Richard of Lynch, NE.

Chamberlain Chapel of Crawford is in charge of arrangements.
