Tyson Hill, 57, of Chadron died Friday, October 1, 2010.
He was born in Wayne, Nebraska on August 7, 1953. He moved to Lincoln in 7th grade and graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 1971. On October 7, 1972 he married his sweetheart Jo and soon after Jason Lee and Tashia Lee were born.
He moved to Chadron in 1979 and worked for Burlington Northern Railroad in Alliance as a hostler while attending classes at Chadron State College. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1981. Twenty five years ago he purchased his first furniture store in Hastings, but his heart was always back in Chadron. In 1997, he purchased the local furniture store now known as Bruce Hill Furniture. He was an active member of the Lion’s Club for over 25 years.
He enjoyed canoeing, tubing and boating the rivers and lakes of Nebraska; hunting and fishing; and home brewing and attending world beer tours. He was a knowledgeable and passionate Nebraska sports fan. He also enjoyed the arts and crafts of woodworking and built four homes within the family. Friends and family recognized him for his sense of humor, warmth, kindness and generosity. He often said, “Friends that sweat together, stick together.” He loved to be involved in spirited conversations with everyone he encountered.
Tyson loved the life he lived and will be remembered as a man who lived the life he loved. Cheers to a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend.
