Inurnment and graveside services for Jesse DeVere Britton, of Crawford will be Saturday, October 16,2010 at 11:00 AM at Crawford Cemetery.
A luncheon will immediately follow at the Eagles Club in Crawford.
A memorial has been established for “The Eagles Club” in Crawford. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, P.O. Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
Jesse DeVere Britton, passed away on October 2, 2010 in Chadron, Nebraska at the age of 82. He was born on November 1, 1927 in Hemingford, Nebraska to Jess Warren Britton and Myrtle Mildred (Toliver) Britton.
Jesse grew up and graduated from high school in Crawford, Nebraska in 1945. After graduation, Jesse served in the Army 1st Calvary after the end of World War II. He was stationed in Japan during the occupation to assist with rebuilding the country. Jesse was a professional truck driver and drove the Chadron to Omaha route twice a week for many years with Ross Transfer. Jesse lived most of his life in Chadron looking after his family and raising his children. He was a member of the Eagles, B.P.O.E, and the VFW. He was a loving Dad, Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle.
Immediate Survivors:
Sons- Steve and wife Karen Britton; John and wife Ronda Britton.
Grandsons- Tanner and Wyatt Britton.
Brothers- Duane, Ron and wife June, LaVern, and Warren (Renate) Britton.
As well as many nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Chamberlain Chapel of Crawford is in charge of arrangements.
