Funeral Services for Rose I. (DiNucci) Wunderlich, age 82 will be held in Ventura, California at a later date.

On November 15, 2010, Rose I. (DiNucci) Wunderlich, age 82, passed away peacefully at the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hay Springs, Nebraska, after battling a long illness of Alzheimer's.
Rose (Rosalia) was born on November 11, 1928, in Portland, Oregon, to Carlo and Frances DiNucci. Rose grew up in Portland, Oregon, graduating from Commerce (Cleveland) High School in 1946 where she was the Student Body Vice-President. After graduating, Rose worked as a secretary for the City of Portland at City Hall.
On July 24, 1954, Rose married her loving husband, John P. Wunderlich, and moved to "sunny" California. Rose worked for the Ventura College Admissions Office and the VenturaCountySchool District retiring in June 1991 as the Buena High School Principal's Secretary. You would always see Rose at the Buena High School Girls Basketball games as she was a big fan!
Rose enjoyed golfing, gardening, bird watching, sewing, traveling and dancing. She was known by her friends to have the "best home-grown navel oranges" in town. Rose enjoyed volunteering as a Pink Lady at CommunityMemorialHospital and the Ventura Police Department. She also belonged to the Assumption Church Ladies YLI for many years.
Rose moved to Hay Springs, Nebraska so she would be close to her daughter, Julie, and great granddaughter, Arielle, as the Alzheimer's disease progressed.
Rose was a beautiful and classy lady who will truly be missed by all.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Wunderlich; her mother and father, Carl and Frances DiNucci; brothers, Joe (whom she called "the Italian Stallion") and John DiNucci.
The family wants to especially thank ALL the wonderful caregivers and nursing home staff for their kindness and warm heartfelt caring during those tough years. It was those individuals who made it possible for Rose to have a peaceful and beautiful life till the end.
Immediate Survivors:
Daughter- Julie Lawrence and husband Jeff Lawrence.
Grandchildren- Jennifer Nielsen (Chadwick Nielsen) and Jeffrey Brandt. Great Granddaughter- who is "her special little angel", Arielle Stallings. Sister- Carmela Smith Mother-in-law- Bernice Wunderlich Many nieces and nephews. Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements.
