Funeral services for Everett Dale Hunter, age 92, will be Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Hay Springs with Pastor Rod Heilbrun officiating.
A reception will be immediately following the ceremony.
Everett will be interred with his late wife Patricia at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA.
A memorial has been established for the Hay Springs Fire Hall. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Drabbels Mortuary, P.O. Box 443, Hay Springs, NE 69347.

Everett Dale Hunter passed away at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hay Springs, Nebraska, on Saturday, November 27, 2010.
Everett was born on December 3, 1917, at home in Hay Springs, Nebraska to Stella Skoda and Forrest Hunter. He attended Hay Springs High School where he played football.
Everett served in the United States army during WWII as a 1st Lieutenant. He joined the cavalry division of the Army in l941, and was stationed in California where he met Patricia Thatcher at a dance and it was love at first sight. Everett and Patricia got married in Hermosa Beach, California three months after first laying eyes on each other and settled in Southern California until Patricia’s death in 1988. In 1990, Everett returned to his beloved Hay Springs.
Everett spent close to 20 years as Ranch Manager for the Fritz B. Burns Ranch in San Fernando, California, where he raised close to 500 head of white fallow deer that were placed on display each Christmas at local shopping malls for families to visit. This herd of deer was the largest private herd in the U.S.
Everett was preceded in death by his wife Patricia and his sister Lois Alderman Saxton. Everett will be remembered most for his gentle spirit and quiet strength.

Daughters- Dayle Dalton of Agoura, CA; Christine Reiss and husband Robert of Palmdale, CA. Grandchildren- Aubree Jones, Jamie Reiss and Bobby Reiss. Great Granddaughter- Savannah Jones. Sister- Betty Binger and brother-in-law Bruce Binger. Dear Friend- Marian Hoos. Nephews- Gary Binger, Monte Binger, Brad Aust. Nieces- Judy Alderman, Jan Gandy Many other close relatives and friends. Chamberlain Drabbels Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
