Memorial services for Mildred Reid Wefso, age 82, will be Monday, December 6, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Serenity Springs in Rapid City, SD with Pastor Bruce Adams officiating.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Methodist Church in Rushville with Pastor Rod Heilbrun officiating.
Burial will be in FairviewCemetery.
A memorial has been established for Family Rescue Services of Chadron. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 336, Gordon, NE69343.

Mildred Reid Wefso, age 82, reached that beautiful shore on December 3, 2010, with her family and friends beside her at MorningstarCenter in Rapid City. Mildred was born in Rushville, Nebraska in January 22, 1928. She was raised on the family farm by her parents Edwin and Clara Reid, and she had nine brothers and sisters. Mildred married Fritz Wefso in 1952. They made their home in Rushville, and were married for 30 years. She was a wonderful mother to her children, Jim and Claire, and a loving "AuntMo" to dozens of nieces and nephews, both the family and adopted kind. Mo was an original multitasker, running the family drugstore, raising and fostering lots of kids in a small home, serving as a den mother, a girl scout leader, a Sunday school teacher, and a music critic to many garage bands which rehearsed in her basement.
From 1988 to 2002, Mildred lived with Jim's family in Rapid City and Claire's family in Omaha, and was a loving GrandmaMo to her seven grandchildren. Since 2002, she lived with her second family at MorningstarCenter in Rapid City, where she was spoiled and pampered, in exchange for her free advice on all topics large and small.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters June Morris, Zella Anderson, Norma Harris, and her brother Edwin Reid. She is survived by sisters Lois Jungck, Dinah Keeley, and Anna Wimer, brothers Jim Reid and Bud Reid; son Jim Wefso and wife Cameon of Lead, daughter Claire Matt and husband Peter of Omaha, and seven grandchildren; Jack, Faye and Charles Wefso and Ali, Greg, Nate and Luke Matt. Mildred is also survived by her dear friend Amy Stamper and her Morningstar angels Amber, Yolanda, Janice, Reann, Patty, Gabe, Sam, Deambra, Lane, Tessie, Falen, Courtney and Traci, and dozens of "nieces and nephews" all over the world.
Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home and Serenity Springs are in charge of arrangements.
