Funeral Services for Zelda Joyce Aspden, age 85, of Chadron will be Friday, January 14, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Hay Springs with Pastor Rod Heilbrun and Reverend Seth Leypoldt officiating.
Burial will be at the Hay Springs Cemetery.
A visitation will be Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 7:00 PM at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron.
A memorial has been established for the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Drabbels Mortuary, PO Box 443, Hay Springs, NE 69347.

Zelda Joyce Aspden passed away on January 10, 2011 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hay Springs.
Zelda was born on May 14, 1925 to Cyril and Atha Williams. She was born and raised south of Hay Springs. She graduated from Hay Springs High School and married Ira Aspden on February 14, 1945. Upon Ira’s passing she moved to Chadron where she raised her four children while working at Chadron State College and later at Chadron Community Hospital.
Zelda was a member for many years with the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Rebeccas, Good Neighbors, and the United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by husband Ira Aspden, and her parents.
Immediate Survivors:
Children- Sandy Cerny of Chadron, NE; Joyce Aspden of Mohave Valley, AZ; Jim Aspden and wife Linda of Wylie, TX; Ira Cyril Aspden and wife Sharon of Gilbert, AZ.
Grandchildren- 9
Great-Grandchildren- 15
Sister- LaRue Aindii of Osage, WY.
Chamberlain Drabbels Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
