Funeral Services for Martha Kominek, age 93, of Stanton, NE will be Monday, January 24, 2011 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Stanton, NE with Reverend Jerry Connealy officiating.
Burial will be at St. Leonard’s CatholicCemetery in Madison, NE.
Visitation will be from 3-8:00 PM with 7:30 PM. Rosary all Sunday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Stanton, NE.

Martha Kominek, age 93 of Stanton, died Wednesday January 19, 2011 at her home in Stanton. She was born February 10, 1917 at Norfolk, Nebraska the daughter of George and Augusta (Vynkier) DeLaere, she attended several schools in MadisonCounty and was a 1935 Graduate of Liberty High School near Madison, NE.
Martha married Emanuel Kominek on June 15, 1937 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey, NE. The family farmed near Madison in StantonCounty until Emanuel’s death in 1975. In 1977 Martha moved to Stanton and worked at the Variety Store in Stanton for a number of years. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, sewing, she is best known to her family for the large family Thanksgiving celebrations she hosted in Stanton for the past 50 years. Martha’s memberships include St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Stanton, St. Peter’s Altar Society, Butterfly Homemakers, Dimick Ladies Club and past member of St. Leonard’s Catholic Church in Madison.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents; husband Emanuel on May 2, 1975; 1 Brother Maurice; and 2 Sisters Mary Clinch and Marguerite Stehwien.
Immediate Survivors:
Children- Phyllis and Don Wachholtz of Anywhere, USA; Jim and Jo Ella Kominek of Chadron, NE
Grandchildren- 6
Great Grandchildren- 12
Sister- Marcella and husband Bob Stander of West Des Moines, IA.
Many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
