Funeral services for Alma L. Smith, age 87, of Crawford will be Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Crawford with Father Bernard Berger officiating.
A rosary will be Monday, February 7, 2011 at St. John’s at 6:00 PM.
Burial will be at the CrawfordCatholicCemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Crawford Rescue Unit. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.

Alma Louis Ellis Smith was granted her angel wings one day short of her 88th birthday on January 31, 2011 in Cody, Wyoming.
Alma was born February 1, 1923 in Crawford, Nebraska to Wilbur and Minnie (Buckley) Ellis. She married Wilbur Smith, the love of her life at the Catholic Parsonage in Crawford, Nebraska on June 17, 1939.
Alma was an amazing, strong, unselfish woman who loved to care for everyone around her especially her family. She loved cooking, playing cards, crafts and gardening. She loved the ranch and all the gatherings from the Holidays to the brandings. She was very active in the community as a teacher’s aide in Belmont, a Grandparent for the Crawford grade school and she loved the Senior Citizen Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, 1 brother, 2 infant brothers, husband of 54 years, Wilbur Smith, and her children Sharon, Larry, and Duane.

Sister- Betty Grove
Children- Richard Smith, Linda Morrow, Bill Smith. Grandchildren- 16 Great Grandchildren- 31 Great-Great grandchildren- 2 Chamberlain Chapel of Crawford is in charge of arrangements.
