Funeral services for James Dean Krotz, age 63, of Hay Springs will be Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the 2:00 PM at the Grace Episcopal Church, 450 Bordeaux Street in Chadron, NE.
Burial will follow at the Hay Springs Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Senior Center in Hay Springs.
Visitation will be Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Chamberlain Mortuary in Hay Springs from 7:00-9:00 PM.

James Dean Krotz, age 63, of Hay Springs passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Hot Springs VA Medical Center in Hot Springs, South Dakota with family at his side after battling cancer.
Jim was born November 6, 1947 at Alliance, Nebraska to John F. and Martha A. (Kruml) Krotz and was raised in Hay Springs, Nebraska. He graduated from Hay Springs High School and attended Denver Automotive Institute for one year and General Motors Automotive Training Center. He served in the US Air Force from 1967-1971 and spent one year in Vietnam and two and a half years in Japan. He was a fuel system specialist on F-14 jets.
Jim returned to Hay Springs to continue his love of farming and ranching.
Jim married Karen Baars on November 17, 1979 at Lusk, WY. The couple lived and worked the farm for 31 years. They were blessed with two children Jennifer and Ryan.
He was an active life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, serving as District 1 representative at the Hot Springs Medical Center for many years. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his father John F. Krotz, brother-in-law Gene Lenhard, nephew Shane Lenhard, and niece Tara Vocu.

Mother: Martha Krotz of Hay Springs, NE.
Sister: Janice Lenhard of Powell, WY.
Brother: Kenneth and wife Betty of Bolingbrook, IL
Twin Brother: Jerald of Cheyenne, WY
Many nieces and nephews.
Chamberlain Drabbels Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
