Memorial services for Charles Cooley Ferguson, age 45, of Crawford will be Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the UnitedMethodistChurch in Crawford with Pastor Marsha Stauss officiating.
Burial will take place at a later date.
There will be a lunch served after the services at The Eagles Club.
Pallbearers for the service will be Jack Lux, Tim Lux, Calvin Dodd, Dave Dodd, Brett Lemmon, Randy Corbin and Randy Rising. Please consider all of Charlie’s friends as honorary pallbearers.
A memorial has been established for the Crawford Fire and Rescue Unit. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
Charles Cooley Ferguson, age 45, of rural Crawford, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at his home north of Crawford.
Charlie was born on June 13, 1965 in Chadron, Nebraska to Ben C. and Barbara (Cooley) Ferguson. He was raised on the family ranch and in Whitney, Nebraska where he attended grades K-8 and graduated from CrawfordHigh School with the Class of 1983. Over the years, he was employed at Dawes County Department of Roads, Chubb Water Wells, State of Nebraska Department of Roads, and for Ferguson, Inc. as a backhoe operator for Cameco Mines.
On June 2, 1990, he was married to Kimberly Lawrey of Crawford. They were divorced in 1995.
Charlie was a member of the Crawford Fire Department and served as an EMT on the Rescue Unit. He was a member of the Crawford Gun Club, bowling league, Pine Ridge Motorcycle Club, and the Crawford Antique Tractor Club. He loved working on old John Deere tractors and any old pickup truck. A pretty good backyard mechanic, he worked on many vehicles for his friends and family.

Charlie was blessed with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many, many great friends.
