Patricia Ann Gillming (Schwieger) age 75, of Crawford passed away April 7th, 2011 in Billings, Montana, surrounded by love from her family. Pat fought a 7 month battle with small cell lung cancer.
Pat was born to Fritz and Ruth (Scherzberg) Schwieger of Grand Island, Nebraska on February 5th, 1936. Her primary education was at the Grand Island School system.
Pat was married to Marvin Waterman and of this marriage she was blessed to have a daughter, Rowena (Waterman) Olbricht. Pat then married Gerald Rhoads and of this marriage she was blessed to have a daughter, Geralyn (Rhoads) Dillard. In 1970 Pat moved to Western Nebraska and married Dale Gillming and of this marriage she was blessed with a daughter, Michelle (Gillming) Stovern.
All memories of Mom will begin and end with a smile as her greatest attribute was her sense of humor. Pat loved bowling and yard work. She worked many years in the restaurant business as a waitress, cook, owner and mentor. She was an amazing cook and people knew that they would get a great meal when she was at the stove. "Cut no corners and serve what you would want to eat" & "if you won’t eat it don’t serve it"is what she always told her children. And if you ever bowled with her you would hear.." Keep your arm straight with your body, don’t cross your self, and slow down you're rushing the foul line". Pat was a great bowler also. Pat was a charter member of the Eagles #3601 co-owned Audrey’s Cafe, Whitney Cafe, and the Downtown Cafe where she was almost famous with her fresh salad bar daily along with her cooking of fulfilling meals, she and her late husband Dale were the happiest when they cooked together.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Dale E. Gillming, parents, Fritz and Ruth Schwieger, grandson, Travis A. Olbricht, brothers, Robert (Bob) Schwieger, Fred Schwieger, nephews, Clark Ensley and Kevin Schwieger.
A special thanks need to be sent out to many for the loving care of our mother, particularly Dr. Bjorling, Scottsbluff, NE, Dr. McLain, Chadron, NE and All the Doctors in Montana for her final days with us.
